A house full of life is not cleared in a weekend. We accompany the dissolution or handover of a household in a calm order: sighting together, securing what matters first, clearing with dignity, organising the move — and, if you wish, supporting the arrival in the first weeks.
The situation
On moving into care, on right-sizing, after a bereavement, the same question arises: what happens to everything that has accumulated over decades? Among furniture and boxes lie documents, photographs, a life. The cheapest route — “a clearance firm tips it all into a skip” — is rarely the right one. It can be done in an orderly way, at your pace, with respect for what remains.
Dignity means: what matters first, the pace with you — and no one profits from talking your things down.
Our standard of dignity
- What matters first. Before anything is moved, we secure documents and papers — powers of attorney, wills, certificates, contracts — and clarify together what is to be taken and kept.
- Keepsakes before disposal. What carries meaning is chosen calmly, not sorted out in haste. What may go, goes in an orderly way: sale, donation, proper disposal.
- Whoever values does not buy. A documented record of the value of household goods and collections stays separate from any purchase — no one profits from talking your things down.
- No artificial time pressure. The pace follows you and what the situation requires — not someone else’s calendar.
How we work
Wahrgut directs the process and safeguards its quality to this standard of dignity; the actual work is done by vetted partners — removals, household clearance, auction houses, trades. How we charge
The first conversation is free. We bill the direction and quality assurance as a fixed fee; the partners’ services are shown transparently. We state the specific amounts in the free compass conversation — in writing, before any engagement. More on the system: Fees.
What we do not do
We do not dispose at speed against the family, and we do not tie the clearing to a “free in exchange for salvage” sale. The handover is pure organisation and coordination — it does not replace legal or tax advice; a lawyer clarifies the law, a tax adviser the taxes. Any sale of the house runs separately, and only if you decide on it.
