Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read and use our content with ease — especially at a stage of life when that matters.

What we do

This website is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 (level AA); for the main body text we reach the higher AAA contrast, while some secondary text meets AA. In practice this means large, calm type (body text at 20 px), colour contrast of at least 7:1, buttons 52 pixels high and tap targets of at least 56 pixels, full keyboard operation, visible focus indicators, no auto-playing video, and respect for reduced-motion preferences.

The standard we measure against

The statutory benchmark at present would be the harmonised standard EN 301 549, which points to WCAG 2.1 level AA. We set the bar higher and follow WCAG 2.2 level AA. Testing is done by hand on an ongoing basis: the main pages with the keyboard alone and with a screen reader.

A voluntary commitment

We are in all likelihood a micro-enterprise under the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) — fewer than 10 employees and no more than €2 million in annual turnover or balance sheet total — and this site is purely informational. Meeting the WCAG criteria here is therefore voluntary, not a legal obligation.

Status and limits

This site is still being built. If you come across anything that is hard to use, please tell us and we will put it right.
