Talk

A talk at your house.

45 minutes, free of charge, with no sales part. We come to your house and speak about the questions many families only raise once time has grown short. Afterwards we leave again — no list, no follow-up.

Who invites us

We speak at parishes, municipal advice centres, adult education centres, clubs, guardianship associations and care support points across our working area — wherever people gather anyway and someone stands behind the quality of an evening. A circle of twelve suits us as well as a full hall.

The talk takes place at your house, not at ours

That is not convenience but intent. A familiar room can be entered without explaining oneself: the parish hall, the course room, the club house. Entering an office with a company name on the door is already half a decision — and nobody should have to make one merely in order to listen.

You provide the room and issue the invitation, we bring the talk. A handout to take away is part of it; we need no special equipment.

What belongs in the papers, before anyone needs them

Which papers are missing when it matters, where to obtain them and how long that takes.

Where law is concerned, the expert speaks in person

Inheritance law, powers of attorney, tax: for these questions we bring in a notary, a solicitor or a tax adviser — and that person speaks in person, rather than us speaking for them. We host the evening, guide through it and hold back on interpretation.

This is not politeness but the boundary drawn by the German Rechtsdienstleistungsgesetz, the act governing legal advice. Only those authorised may give it, and good will is no substitute for authorisation. The division of roles is therefore the heart of this format, not its trimming: No legal or tax advice. We explain procedures, not individual cases. Where a question goes beyond that, we say so in the room and name the route by which it can be settled.

What does not happen

No sales part at the end. No address list at the exit for anyone to sign. No follow-up calls in the days after. Whoever wants a conversation afterwards gets in touch themselves — through the Confidential enquiry or through the organisation that issued the invitation.

It matters to us that your guests leave the room without obligation. Anything else would be a sales appointment with a talk in front of it, and people over sixty are offered plenty of those already. What we hold ourselves to is set out in our code.

A talk after which nobody gets in touch was still a good talk.

Questions we are often asked by hosts

What does the talk cost?
Nothing — neither a fee nor travel costs. We give it because people who know early decide more calmly later.
How long does it take, and how many guests are needed?
The talk runs for 45 minutes, plus as much time for questions as you plan for. Shorter is possible, longer too. There is no minimum number of guests.
Can we combine two of the three topics?
We advise against it. Each of the three topics fills an evening, and hearing two leaves too little of either. Two separate dates are the better way.
How do we request a talk?
Through the Confidential enquiry — the only form on this site with a free-text field. Name your organisation, the topic you would like and the format your house offers. We reply within two working days and settle everything further in writing.
